Planning a scene (2.16)
One of the exercises is to make a storyboard about a short scene. Here is mine:
A woman is at a messy desk in what seems to be an office. The evening light filtrates
through the closed fabric curtains. It is the Golden Hour. The desk is filled with
papers, tools, boxes and everyday items. She seems to be looking for something.
ELISE (talking mostly to herself):
Where the heck is it?
The door opens slowly (making some noise) and Elise looks back towards the door. As
she sees no one coming in, she slowly stands up and stares at the door, waiting for
something to happen. She remains silent and with a concerned face.
A FEMALE VOICE FROM JUST OUTSIDE THE ROOM (with a quiet and trembling voice)
Elise? Elise Becksman?
ELISE
Yeah?
FEMALE VOICE
You shouldnt be here. He will know...
Elise stares at the door, and as she takes one step further, the young woman slowly
peaks through the door and enters the room.
FEMALE (as she hands over a computer mouse (cableless)
I got it here. You have to send it.
ELISE
I will
As Elise looks at the mouse, she turns it to the back and starts removing the
battery lid. She takes a step back and bumps into some piled papers that fall
to the ground.
FEMALE (scared, turns around and leaves quickly while she says)
We have to get out now...
Elise opens the mouse and reveals a memory card inside. She takes it, and pockets
both the mouse and the memory card. She turns and picks the pile and places it on
the desk and she leaves the scene quickly.
